UU to host advanced screening of slasher film ‘Happy Death Day’

University Union will screen the film “Happy Death Day” on Monday. The movie is about a college student, played by Jessica Rothe from “La La Land.” She's murdered on the night of her birthday only to subsequently relive the day.

An advanced screening of slasher film “Happy Death Day” will air at Syracuse University on Monday, University Union has announced.

The screening will be held at 8 p.m. in Gifford Auditorium in Huntington Beard Crouse Hall. Doors open at 7 p.m. The movie is presented by UU in coordination with NBCUniversal, according to a UU release. Entrance is free for students, faculty, staff and the general public. Closed captions will be provided.

In “Happy Death Day,” a college student, played by Jessica Rothe from “La La Land,” is murdered on the night of her birthday only to subsequently relive the day. Every day ends in death until she is able to discover her killer’s identity. The movie was directed by Christopher Landon of “Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones” and written by Scott Lobdell and Landon.
